EPCR Appoint Turnstile
Jan 26, 2022
European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) has appointed Turnstile to deliver sponsorship valuation services across their commercial portfolio for both the Heineken Champions Cup and the EPCR Challenge Cup.
EPCR join other major rugby rights holders including World Rugby, The British & Irish Lions, All Blacks, Rugby Australia, Premiership Rugby, and Bath Rugby, in adopting Turnstile’s valuation approach; premised on quantifying the fair market price of the three key components of sponsorship value being Benefits, Exposure and Intellectual Property.
Turnstile was launched in 2018 and built to provide sponsorship buyers and sellers with unrivalled insight into the actual market value of sponsorship assets. The platform supports our clients with a range of services including prospective deal valuations, post event valuations, commercial transformations, strategic problem solving and everything in between.
Jonny MacDonald, Commercial Manager of the EPCR, explained that they were looking for an approach that provides powerful and transparent insight about the fair market price of their sponsorship assets whilst also capturing the value of associating with the two competitions with sizeable fan bases across Europe and extending into other key rugby markets.
“We’d heard really positive reviews about Turnstile across the industry and felt that the service they provide was precisely what we were looking for. Their deep insight into the market rates being paid for sponsorship assets and the way they will use this data to reflect the market value of our properties really stood out to us, as well as their market leading approach to valuing Intellectual Property. Turnstile will provide us with valuations that are not only rigorous but reflect the entire value proposition of the Heineken Champions Cup and the EPCR Challenge Cup.”
Dan Gaunt, General Manager of Turnstile, said
“We’re delighted to be supporting the EPCR and further building on our deep rugby expertise. The Heineken Champions Cup and Challenge Cup are unique properties that enable partners to reach passionate communities of rugby fans across Europe. We’re confident that our experience in valuing deals across many of the world’s biggest rugby properties will deliver invaluable independent insight”.
