The Perks of Working at Turnstile

The Dojo

In Japanese culture, the ‘Dojo’ is a place where students train and seek enlightenment. With this philosophy in mind, Turnstile's Dojo Program is designed to develop skills and abilities, as well as improve overall job satisfaction. It covers three key phases of professional development:

  • Activate

Welcome to Turnstile! Here’s where you learn the basics and start feeling part of the family.

    Activate
  • Develop

Structured training to evolve core skills and gain deeper insight through external training and Turnstile's intellectual capital.

    Develop
  • Explore

Accelerated learning through customised opportunities for personal and professional development.

Dojo Awards

The Trip of a Lifetime

Dojo Explore Award, which simply put, is our very own MVP award.

Each year, everyone at Tenka Group (owners of Turnstile and Gemba) is given the opportunity to nominate employees they believe have gone above and beyond their role. We’re talking about the superstars, the silent achievers, the playmakers, and even the up and comers.

The winners are rewarded with a once in a lifetime international trip to experience a world class sport and entertainment event. It’s a unique opportunity that’s helped fast-track the careers of those who’ve won.

Since its inception, we’ve sent winners to the Rugby World Cup in London, the US Open, Sundance Film Festival, FIFA headquaters in Switzerland, the NBA All-Star Tournament in the USA and this year the winners are off to the FIFA World Cup.

Zenkai

The Turnstile Alumni

Zenkai is our Turnstile Alumni program, where we recognise the unique contribution of people who have worked at Turnstile and since moved on to further their careers elsewhere.

The Zenkai are considered integral to the Turnstile family and part of an ongoing, mutually beneficial relationship. Together we maximise opportunities, share skills, experiences and our passion for sport & entertainment.

What Our People Have to Say

Dan Gaunt

General Manager

Turnstile offers a great opportunity for those wanting to move out of professional services and into the sports industry. From day one you will be working alongside many of the biggest brands and rights holders in the industry, learning about their businesses and helping them make significant commercial decisions.

Being interested in what I do is a key driver for me in choosing where I work. At Turnstile there is rarely a day that I’m not involved in a number of projects or conversations that I find utterly fascinating.

Culturally, we place a huge importance on looking out for one another and always treating one another with respect and empathy.

James Littlewood

Head of Sponsorship Valuation

As a small company the culture is really important at Turnstile and is big part of why it’s so fun to work here. Everyone works to help each other, and as a growing and dynamic company you can really see impact of your actions on the business on a day to day basis.

We’re lucky enough to work with such a wide array of amazing people from all over the industry and there’s never a dull day discussing the intricacies of the sports sector and it’s such a pleasure being able to present our work to them as you can really see the value the Turnstile approach adds.

Michael Phillips

Product Strategy

Turnstile is a place where I feel like I truly belong, can be myself and work alongside amazing people, all while contributing to work that is insightful, interesting and game-changing. Each day brings with it new challenges, new problems to solve, new ideas to pursue and a lot of fun along the way.

This is a fantastic place to grow your career, expand your network in sport and lead work that makes a real difference in a dynamic, fast-paced and global sector. No two days are the same and every project has its own story.

Elaine Passanha

People & Culture

At Tenka, People & Culture sits at the core of our business. With a clearly defined Learning & Development approach there is clear investment into the growth of our employees from the day they join us. We make a commitment to truly support each one of our team members through structured check in’s, company conferences and review processes twice a year.

Being a business with multiple arms it is also very interesting to see how the UK and Australian teams interact and collaborate on certain projects. For anyone interested in the sports industry there truly is no better place to be.

Tea Robinson

Analyst

The diversity of the roles and people at Turnstile is really what brings the company and its culture to life. With a small, yet rapidly growing team, one of the best parts about working at Turnstile is the ability to so frequently collaborate and bash heads with every member of the office, rather than just your immediate team members. The freedom to challenge each other and push the norms of the sport industry is what makes Turnstile stand out from the rest and the journey has only just begun!

There is never a dull day in the office or a day with jokes about your favourite team being made, it is a fun and fast-paced office environment that pushes you to be the best version of yourself and grow confidence in every single piece of work you do. There really is nowhere like Turnstile and it is the perfect opportunity to propel yourself into the industry and make connections for a lifetime.

Jamie Turvill
