Senior Finance Assistant | London -

Role Overview
We are seeking a tech-savvy and detail-oriented Senior Finance Assistant to join our forward-thinking finance team. The ideal candidate will not only handle traditional accounting tasks such as Accounts Payable, Receivable, and payroll duties but will also be instrumental in automating financial processes, integrating systems, and utilising business intelligence tools like PowerBI. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your accounting and technical skills to drive efficiency and innovation within our organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Accounts Payable, Receivable, payroll, and statutory reporting while implementing automation to streamline these processes.
  • Utilise SQL for data querying and analysis to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting.
  • Lead the integration of APIs between accounting software, CRM systems, and other operational platforms to ensure seamless data flow across the business.
  • Utilise business intelligence tools such as PowerBI to create financial dashboards and reports, providing clear insights to management and stakeholders.
  • Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain and reconcile multi-currency ledgers and manage cash flow requirements.
  • Proactively contribute to the development and implementation of financial automation initiatives to improve efficiency.

Key Stakeholders:

Internal: Management Accountant, Finance Manager, CEO, Directors, COO, Manager, Divisional Managers, and internal staff.
External: Suppliers, clients, bankers, payroll bureaus, and external accountants.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, with a strong focus on automation and system integration.
  • Proven experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general bookkeeping, with a demonstrated ability to streamline these processes through automation.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with SQL for financial data analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., PowerBI), including creating financial dashboards and generating insights.
  • Experience with integrating APIs between accounting software, CRM systems, and other business platforms.
  • Solid understanding of computerised financial management systems and advanced Excel skills.
