Turnstile has an established team a team of analysts and consultants to deliver an unrivalled level of insight for clients such as FIFA, UEFA, Formula 1, The International Cricket Council, Arsenal, Manchester City, England Rugby and the All Blacks.

We are looking for a Business Development Lead to join our team in the Greater New York Area.

Role Purpose

  • Manage the relationship with SponsorPulse (North American partner) to ensure that high quality proposals and other sales support material are provided
  • To drive Turnstile’s Sales activity and pipeline management in North America to deliver budgeted revenue targets through direct engagement with existing and new clients.
  • Provide input into Turnstile’s marketing activity, such as the publication of thought leadership reports, social media content strategy, integration into sports business media platforms

Qualifications & experience expected

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience, preferably within the Sport and Entertainment Industry with a focus on Sponsorship, Business Development and Client Delivery
  • A strong knowledge of the sponsorship landscape within the sport and entertainment industry is preferred
  • A strong interest and passion for the sport and entertainment industry is required

Technical skills and abilities

  • Advanced PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent project, stakeholder and time management skills
  • Demonstrated empathy and integrity working with both internal staff and external senior client executives
  • Ability to identify a sales opportunity and put a plan in place to execute against it
  • Ability to systemise work processes so that they are repeatable and scalable to drive maximum efficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complexity and uncertainty, including numerous projects at one time, in a calm and structured manner
  • Excellent, written and verbal presentation skills, with relevant tertiary qualifications (Commerce or Business)
  • Strong attention to detail

Key responsibilities

  • Supporting the development of the go-to market strategy and plan, while leveraging other data sources deals database that could identify potential sales opportunities
  • Support Turnstile in taking a data driven approach to increasing its sales opportunities by working with the Head of Commercial to identify and execute new sales and marketing approaches (e.g. industry publications, social media advertising, targeted email campaigns)
  • Manage the relationship with SponsorPulse to ensure that all necessary sales materials, proposals, and costings are provided
  • Develop a strong understanding of the data sets owned by Turnstile and SponsorPulse with the objective of commercialising this data through valuations or data buys
  • Support the Turnstile Owned Channels (Social Media, Database) content strategy and approach and managing Turnstile’s CRM database
  • Drive forward and input into Turnstile’s ‘Awareness’ marketing activity, such as the publication of thought leadership reports, managing our social media channels social media content strategy and integrating our products into sports business editorial platforms
  • Preparation for and participation in sales meetings
  • Writing high quality proposal documents
  • Identifying areas for business growth focus and developing and reporting against key KPIs

The Candidate

We’re looking for candidate with strong experience in business development and content marketing with demonstrated experience of driving growth within a business.

Specifically, you will have a combination of

  • At least 5 years of work experience, preferably within the Sport and Entertainment Industry with a focus on Sponsorship, Business Development and Client Delivery
  • While knowledge of the sponsorship landscape within the sport and entertainment industry is preferred, we are looking for a candidate with strong interest and passion for the sport and entertainment industry.
  • Demonstrated empathy and integrity working with both internal staff and external senior client executives
  • Ability to identify a sales opportunity and put a plan in place to execute against it.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including strong MS PowerPoint skills)
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Strong project management skillsA can-do attitude!
